The Run

The anticipation, nerves and excitement that overwalms you
you wait and 
waiting for time to come
getting more and more nervous
stretching, preparing 
getting ready
Pow!
the gun sounds
your off
quick as can be
you run,
run,
run
worries gone
minutes passed
finish in sight
you speed up, going faster, faster
your done
minutes that have passed 
worries all gone and passed
now your done
relieved,
excited,
achieved
that its all done 

Throughout high school I  decided to join the Cross Country team. When I joined the team I realized that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be on the team.
